caries involvement of intact teeth by eliminatingthe caries in fractured cusps from the total score. Thesecorrected caries scores, given in table 1, did not alter thecaries evaluation. The diets which contained processed cerealsstill resulted in considerably more carious fissures, excludingthose in fractured cusps. Thus the extensive cariogenicityof oatmeal was shown to be a general characteristic of processed cereals.
