2005年，中国口腔颌面外科学者在SCI期刊上发表的论文数量剧增，呈现出迅猛的发展势头。经检索查证，截至2005年12月31日，中国口腔颌面外科学者在13种SCI收录期刊上发表学术论文37篇。按期刊论文数量统计，Int J Oral Maxillofac Surg 8篇，J Oral Maxillofac Surg 6篇，Br J Oral Maxillofac Surg 3篇，Plast Reconstr Surg 2篇，J Oral Pathol Med 2篇，Oral Oncol 4篇，Chin Med J (Engl) 3篇，Br J Plast Surg、Cleft Palate Craniofac J、J Oral Rehabil、Mol Cell Biochem、Oral Surg Oral Med Oral Pathol Oral Radiol Endod、Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg、Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys、Laryngoscope、Mol Ther各1篇。按单位统计，★武汉大学口腔医学院SCI论文数量最多（10篇），其次依次为☆北京大学口腔医学院（6篇 ）、首都医科大学口腔医学院、浙江大学口腔医学院（各4篇）、上海交通大学口腔医学院和四川大学华西口腔医学院（各3篇）、第四军医大学口腔医学院和中南大学湘雅口腔医学院（各2篇），香港大学牙学院、中山大学第二医院和滨州医学院各1篇。论文题录如下：
